Conference Reception

Join us at Carnegie Mellon University for food and drinks, see some of the exciting work at CMU, and celebrate the ASSETS 25th Anniversary!

The reception will begin at 7pm, and you can get there using our provided shuttles or public bus (61 or 71 routes). Our shuttles are 4 yellow school buses that will leave the conference venue at 6:30pm sharp. Be outside the hotel at the Grant St. rear entrance (near Bruegger’s Bagels) before 6:30pm! The buses will drop you off on Forbes avenue near the Gates-Hillman Center. Enter through the Forbes Ave entrance (4th floor) and go upstairs to the 6th floor. There you will need to show a photo ID (US driver’s license/state ID or foreign passport please!) to receive a wristband and two drink tickets. If you miss the 6:30pm bus, they will continue to circulate to bring people to the reception and back, with the last bus leaving CMU at 9:30pm to return to the One Hotel by 10pm.

Conference Reception

Join us at the Warhol Museum for light appetizers, drinks, activities, and announcement of conference awards!

The reception will start at 6:30pm, and you can get there by walking (15 minutes) or taking the free subway system (the Blue or Red line) from the nearby Steel Plaza to the North Side. To walk, leave the Omni Hotel and walk along Sixth street until you reach the Andy Warhol bridge to cross the Allegheny River. If you have a mobility impairment and would like to use our shuttle, we will have a single yellow school bus leaving the conference venue at 6:30pm form the rear entrance (Grant St. near Bruegger’s Bagels). Because of limited shuttle capacity, please reserve this for those who cannot travel to the reception by other means. Once at the Warhol museum, check in at the registration desk to receive your 2 drink tickets (cash bar available as well). Please explore the 3 floors of art (floors 4,5, and 6) while you are there, but food and beverage must stay on the ground level.
